Sendai City (仙台) is a city located in a southern part of Miyagi Prefecture (宮城県). It is the seat of the Prefectural government in this prefecture, and a government-designated major city. It has the alias of "Capital in the grove" from nature in the Hirose river and Mt. Aoba-yama, etc. is in the center of a city and there are a lot of greens such as street trees. The urban area from conventional is formed in the river terrace. Recently, the population diffuses to suburbs. The population is about 1.03 million people, and the daytime populations are about 1.15 million people. The maximum population scale in the Tohoku region is possessed.
