メクネス（مكناس = Meknes）は、モロッコの首都ラバトから東に130km、フェズの西60kmに位置するメクネス地方の最大都市です。城壁に囲まれた都市では「古都メクネス」として世界遺産に指定されています。1675年から1728年までアラウィー朝の首都が置かれていました。メクネス北部には、聖地ムーレイ・イドリスや古代ローマ遺跡で世界遺産に登録されているヴォルビリスの古代遺跡があります。
