World Heritage of Japan

In Japan, there is World Heritage in 14 places. 11 places register in the cultural heritage among those and three places are registered in the natural heritage. The area on which a lot of World Heritage has concentrated is the Kinki region with Kyoto and Nara in Japan that is Old Town. It is two and a half hours in Shinkansen (High-speed railway) from Tokyo to Kyoto.
There is "Historic Monuments of Ancient Kyoto" as World Heritage in Kyoto. There are "Historic Monuments of Ancient Nara", "Buddhist Monuments in the Horyu-ji Area" and "Himeji Castle" as World Heritage around Kyoto.
